Designing With Web - Part 3: week 1

Enable access to basic services and natural resources to the poorest population

Group 26

Project 1: Volunt'here

Context

when? where? who? why?

There are more than a dozen associations in Paris which help the homelesses by carrying out various missions. Among the best known are: la croix rouge, les restos du coeur and l'armée du salut.

These associations require a great deal of mobilization from volunteers to be able to deploy at any time to help these destitute people and sometimes they lack the resources to do so.

The aim of our project is to put individuals that have time but maybe not the envy to engage themselves in a long-term program in touch with these associations on an ad hoc basis by geolocalising in real time the missions in which they can participate near where they are.

Target

for whom?

We want to reach targets on two levels: on the one hand, citizens who wish to help on an ad hoc basis when they have the time and according to the mission rather than committing themselves on a regular basis to a particular NGO, and on the other hand, associations that would put their needs for each mission in real time.

Service offered

what? how?

With the application Volunt'here, associations will be able to post in real time their volunteering missions and their location as well as details of the mission. Volunteers, for their part, will be able to chose among the daily-updated missions near them which are the ones that matches the more to their envy and time.

Identity

Pick images to describe the universe around your service (context, users, places, techs, …) and name your service accordingly.
Don't try to illustrate the final service that you may have in mind but instead its context.

Benchmark

List concurrents / relative projects and describe how they relate/differentiate to your project

Project 2: The Hope Market

Context

when? where? who? why?

France had 8.8 million poor people in 2016, according to INSEE. In other words, 8.8 million people were living below the monetary poverty line - which therefore amounts to 1026 euros per month - in 2016. In 2016, the poverty rate was 14%, down 0.2 points from 2015. Therefore, our project's aim is to help this part of the population with basic services such as hygenic protection and natural ressources such as food and beverages.

To implement this, we want to create a website that serves as a platform for professionals and individuals so that they can regularly offer food baskets (and other daily products like hygiene goods) to associations that would redistribute them.

Target

for whom?

Even though the final user is a person in need, the real targets here are the non profit organizations that will get what they need to provide help.

Service offered

what? how?

With this website you will be able to give baskets according to your location, your availabilities and your time. All this information will have to be completed by the giver in order to make the system work, so organization can get what they need the most at the right time, in the right place.
